International students have a powerful influence on the Canadian economy

According to figures from the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), international students represent a powerful economic influence in Canada. In 2017, there were 494,525 international students in Canada, a 119% increase compared to 2010 and a 20% increase from 2016. According to estimates, foreign students spend $8 billion annually in Canada. This includes such expenses as tuition, housing and other living expenses. The direct result is the creation of more than 81,000 jobs and a more than $445 million contribution to national revenue. Surveys have shown that 95% of international students recommend Canada as a study destination to their peers. As of July 31, 2019, Canada issued 182,770 study permits to international students, while last year this number reached 355,80. #international_students, #student_immigration, #study_in_Canada, #study_permit
